Summary:
In Chicago, 2104, WHO (World Health Organization) stated that TB is rivaling HIV/AIDS as a leading cause of death from infectious disease. 1.1 million of people died in TB, while 1.2 million people died in HIV/AIDS as well also 400,000 were diagnosed in HIV/AIDS and TB. One of the director of the WHO TB program said that the problem reviewed that there are many access to HIV/AIDS treatment that helped many lives in the past. But it also created a dis balance between TB and HIV/AIDS for a funding treatment. TB intervention also helped many people since 2000, but the death rates were still very high.
There are 480.000 cases of multi drug resistant TB but only in one out of four that are diagnosed. The dis balance between HIV/AIDS and TB are the main issues. There are 10x more funding in HIV/AIDS than in TB, there are $8 million spent for HIV/AIDS intervention while $800,000 are being spent for TB intervention. Dr. Raviglione said that there should be more funding for TB.

Reflection
After reading this article, I never thought that tuberculosis could be rivaling against HIV/AIDS for leading cause of death. I always see people who have TB but they are always cured so i thought that TB is a curable disease not a serious one as HIV/AIDS. I always hear HIV/AIDS are a dangerous disease so many people funding for this disease. We should fund also for TB because many people could die in this serious disease and we can help them. We should advertise more to show awareness that TB could be a deadly disease that many people can have.
