Reflection:In my opinion, I think that humans would be the one who should be relocating than elephants because humans are living where elephants should be living. It's very unfair for elephants to relocate because they should be living peacefully in their habitat but they where living somewhere else just because humans were getting killed by them for staying in the elephants habitat.

Summary:A new study finds in Sri Lanka, that saving both human and elephants lives by relocating the elephants to move to another place had failed. Relocating elephants died more often than the ones who stayed in their range, and they killed more people than the elephants who stayed in their range. Researchers found out that a herd of elephants damaging the three houses in a village in India. Common solution to the problem, to save both human and elephants lives is to conserve elephants to protected areas like national parks. 70 people and 200 Asian elephants in Sri Lanka, die each year because of conflict between humans and elephants.
For example, the elephants are released from national parks, wandered returned to their original habitat or stayed some place new but nearly all of them had conflicted with humans. In eight months after they were released, five of them died and were responsible for killing five people. But elephants that were not left their ranges didn't killed anyone. Researchers stated that land-use plans to minimize crop raiding is more effective that relocating elephants. |
